In case you missed them...

The big hits are the big hits: Nick Kristof's wonderful column about us and the Parade Magazine excerpt.

But so many other folks have started picking up The Power of Half. A few you might not have seen:

-- In the L.A. Times, Susan Salter Reynolds wrote this marvelous line: "You feel lighter reading this book, as if the heavy weight of house and car and appliances, the need to collect these things to feel safe as a family, are lifted and replaced by something that makes much more sense."

-- Rod Dreher on Belief.net: "What do you think you could give up for the sake of helping the less fortunate? That's a question I'd like to think about as we're approaching Lent, which is not only a time of fasting, but also of almsgiving. The luxuries in my life usually have to do with food and wine. Mind you, we Orthodox Christians have a pretty serious fast anyway during Great Lent (no meat, no dairy), but I'm going to try to figure out how much I spend on eating out and eating well at home during regular time, and give the difference to charity during the fast."

-- On The Gathering, Fred Smith posted this: "Find out how much the Salwen family gained when they decided to give away half of what they had."

-- And on the very cool site, Tonic.com, Jac Chebatoris posted this item, including the wonderful phrase about our process of figuring out where to use the proceeds from our house: "putting a new spin on the idea of 'family fun time....'"

I'll post some more later, but aren't those fun?
