I wish this weren't true but more than one-third of givers plan to write fewer or smaller checks this quarter (which, of course, is the quarter for most of the giving). You can read more here.

What does this mean? That the two-thirds must double our efforts to give even more, both in time and in dollars. It's a funny thing about the nonprofit world -- just when giving is at its most difficult, the needs are at their highest level.
